How To:
In this method, 25 to 100 gr sample is taken from the soil passing through the sieve no. 200.
500 ml suspension with the soil sample in total is prepared in a glass measuring cylinder.
A dispersant is added to the suspension to prevent aggregation of the particles.
The suspension, which is thoroughly mixed in a mixer, is transferred into a glass measuring cylinder and placed in a water bath or a heated glass tank that maintains a constant temperature throughout the experiment.
After starting the experiment, 10 ml suspension samples are taken from a depth of 100 mm from the suspension surface with an Andreasen pipette at the end of certain periods (t:15s, 30s, 1min, 2min....24h etc.).
These samples are dried in an oven and the dry masses are determined by weighing on a sensitive balance.
