Road roughness is often the first type of data collected when examining roads; provides a good overview of the general condition of the road. The Laser Profilometer used in IRI (roughness) measurement collects roughness data with high precision and repeatability on highways and asphalt roads. The device can also collect Macro-Texture Data.

The sensitive laser sensor measures rutting depth and transverse profile data. The sensor, which receives transverse profile data, is mounted on the bumper and makes transverse measurements from 15 points. With the system;

• Small and large scale network surveys

• Post-construction quality surveys

• Routine status investigations for maintenance planning

Images of the road corridor or pavement are saved for use as a quick and permanent reference for the user. Special software can do the following;

• Creating GIS databases using mobile mapping software,

• iRAP coding,

• Recording lists of assets and events referenced to chainage and GPS,

• Crack and defect measurements,

• Image trigger distance for manageable file sizes,

• Customizable data overlay onto each image.

Users can select custom configurations from 3 types of available cameras:

• Right Of Way (ROW) Camera (Road Crossing Camera),

• Pavement View Cameras,

• 360 Degree Camera

It measures road geometry at normal traffic speeds with its built-in GPS and Inertial Measurement Unit. Calculates Gradient, Cross-slope and radius of curvature. The Laser Crack Measurement System can analyze and calculate the following data:

• Cracking (including, width, depth, length, type and even sealed cracks),

• Rut depth, width and cross-sectional area,

• MPD Macro texture,

• Ravelling detection,

• Pothole detection

• Concrete joints and faulting,

• Water pooling depths,

• Pavement images automatically overlaid with defects.

Accurate location reference including GPS locations, data acquisition system, high resolution odometer, highly accurate chaining/distance measurements and options for many compatible GPS receivers.
